[ Reliance on or trust in somebody or something for help or support.“’Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit’ says the Lord Almighty.” Zech.4:6 ]

Believing that Jesus is Lord of the church and recognizing our tendency to rely on ourselves, we as a staff must intentionally maintain the posture of looking to Him for guidance. As a staff, we have a responsibility to hold each other up in prayer. We should continually be praying, seeking, and trusting Him because, “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together… He is the head of the body, the church.” Col. 1:17-18 Jesus clearly said, “Apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

[ A steadfast adherence to a moral and ethical code that has been given to us through the Bible ]

As a staff we desire to adhere in all aspects of life to the Biblical principals God has given us through his word. We will strive to do this by knowing the scriptures and applying them personally in our lives. “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16 Therefore, our adherence to the word of God will produce integrity in our work ethic, commitment, and the involvement in what is needed in order to carry out the life of the Church.

[ A cooperative and coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together as a team, in the interests of a common cause ]

As a staff we will strive to work toward the common mission of Grace Community Church “making dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ.” We will do this through cooperative and integrated efforts in ministry, multisite development, departmental cooperation and clear communication. Keeping the mission of the Church above our own desires and striving to end any conflicts that may hinder the purpose of the Church. “The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ.” 1 Corinthians 12:12. “But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.” 1 Corinthians 12:24b-25

Servant Leadership

[ To guide in direction, course, and action by serving others.] We will strive to be servant leaders to the body of the Church. Servant leaders are interested in building up the people who have been entrusted to their care ]

As a staff we want to build up those around us and equip them through disciplining, instructing, guiding and providing service to the Church body. We want to integrate our work with our spiritual growth. By serving others we grow spiritually as do those who are being served. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

[ To furnish or provide with whatever is needed for any undertaking ]

As a staff we desire to provide opportunities for the body of believers that will equip them to work toward building the kingdom of Christ. This includes helping them fit into the body of believers where they may best be of service and urging them toward maturity in Christ. “…to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ…” Eph. 4:12-13
